Scholarships & Awards
The Duxbury Art Association is proud to offer several opportunities for artists young and old: The DAA Student Scholarship - This student scholarship (a value of up to $250 each) will be awarded to students between the ages of 3.5 and 18 who are interested in taking a DAA art class at the Ellison Center for the Arts. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and awarded prior to the beginning of each semester. Click here to download the Student Scholarship application The Katherine Smit Scholarship - Women, 18 years and older, are invited to apply for this scholarship supporting those interested in pursuing art classes through the Duxbury Art Association. A generous anonymous donor has given the funds to allow two individual scholarships per year for either an art class or workshop to be awarded. Click here to download the Katherine Smit Scholarship application The Robert A. St. Pierre Award - The Duxbury Art Association grants the Robert A. St. Pierre Award annually to a high school senior who plans on further studies in the visual arts. An award of $1000 is given to a student who plans further study in the visual arts at an art school or other college, or through an organized program of art study; including an apprenticeship or private study with an artist. The St. Pierre Scholarship is awarded on the basis of talent, motivation and serious intent. Applications are available at the DAA office and will be Past Winners Deadline for the application is Friday, April 25, 2008. Applications may be hand delivered (mail to post office box, please) to the Duxbury Art Association Office, located in The Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury.
